Formula

How this is calculated
net change = end − start | growth rate = (net change / start) × 100 | average daily change = net change / days

Growth rate is undefined, not zero or infinite, when the starting count is 0 — this tool shows net change and average daily change instead of fabricating a percentage in that case.

Worked example

5,000 followers growing to 5,450 over 30 days: net change = +450, growth rate = +9%, average daily change = +15/day.

Starting from 0 followers

0 followers growing to 200 over 10 days: net change = +200, growth rate is undefined (not a percentage of 0), average daily change = +20/day.

Limitations

This tool never connects to an Instagram account or fetches follower history — every number comes from what you type in. Average daily change is a straight-line average across the period; it doesn't reconstruct an uneven day-to-day trend (a viral spike, a plateau, a temporary drop).

No account access
This tool never collects social account credentials or scrapes profiles.
Manual figures only
There is no built-in dataset of typical growth rates — every number is one you supply.

Questions

Why is the growth rate blank when I start from 0 followers?

Growth rate is a percentage of the starting count, so dividing by 0 is undefined — not infinite, not 100%. This tool shows the net change and average daily change instead of fabricating a percentage in that case.

Does average daily change reflect the actual day-to-day trend?

No — it's the net change divided evenly across the period, a straight-line average. If growth was uneven (a viral spike, a mid-period plateau), the real daily numbers will differ from this average even though the total and the average both check out.
