What happens if I forget the password?
The PDF can't be opened without it — this tool doesn't keep a copy of your password or any way to recover it, since nothing is ever sent anywhere.
Will this work with any PDF?
It works with any PDF that isn't already password-protected. A PDF that's already encrypted needs to be unlocked with its existing password first.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Encryption happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your PDF is read locally and the protected file is assembled on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
