Fee bases and listing events
The percentage fee applies to sale price plus shipping charged — a common basis for marketplace transaction fees — while item cost and your own shipping cost are kept entirely separate. This tool applies its percentage fee and Offsite Ads rate to price plus shipping charged by default, matching that common basis; item cost and shipping cost you pay are kept entirely separate and never included in the fee base.
Why does a listing renewal affect profit?
Listing fees are billed per listing or renewal event — not per order. A single listing can sell many times before it needs renewing, or it can renew without a sale at all. This tool lets you set the number of listing/renewal events tied to this calculation separately from order quantity, so you don't overstate or understate that cost.
